Josie Licavoli is a painter, arts educator and cultural worker from the Bay Area. Her art practice is a dialogue between the land, the body, and honoring those who came before us whose stories are lost within the systematic erasure of oppressed people. In her work as an educator and cultural worker, she carries the same intentions as her art practice; focusing on low income and otherwise disadvantaged communities with patience, empathy and flexibility. She graduated with a degree in Arts Education and Studio Art from Cal Poly Humboldt in 2022, and since returning to the Bay has dedicated herself in making the arts more accessible to a varying range of communities within San Francisco. She currently is a Teaching Artist at SCRAP and part time studio assistant at Hospitality House Community Arts Program.
